The Dutch capital of Amsterdam, known for its liberal tendencies in regards to drugs and prostitution, has now decided to ban cannabis smoking in popular tourist places in the city, around those so called “red-light district” areas, according to The Guardian.

According to the newspaper the ban is mostly concentrated to the De Wallen-area, famous for its legalized brothel operations. But the ban also concerns restaurants and bars that are forced to close earlier.

The new legislation comes after years of complaints from local residents about crazy drunk tourists and other drug affected people making a mess in the city, by urinating and vomiting everywhere, making fights while visiting the brothels and taking all kinds of drugs, although cannabis is the only permitted drug to use in the city.

The Netherlands is well known for its liberal laws and views of life. In 2006 the EU country had its first political pedophile party, NVD, registered and approved by the country’s constitution, proposing that sexual relations should be allowed from the age of 12 and that it should be legal to drink alcohol and use drugs, and has, among other things, with the goal of liberalizing child pornography and sexual relations between adults and children. A party that was created by the late Dutchman Ad van den Berg, a well know pro-pedophile activist.
